ONE NJC Ltd Systemic Reform. Strategic Advocacy. Creative Innovation.

Meet the Director: Nathaniel James Clarkson | The Creative Strategist

Pioneering new models for systemic change.

As the Founder and Director of ONE NJC Ltd, Nathaniel James Clarkson operates at the cutting edge of creative innovation and systemic health reform.

Nathaniel’s career is defined by a unique convergence of skills. He combines a 25-year legacy as a successful media producer with high-level strategic consultancy, proving that creative tools are essential for solving complex human problems.

This approach has established him as a true pioneer in the sector. Nathaniel is the creator of the Watch, Listen, Read™ format—a proprietary multi-sensory engagement model currently being adopted across the East of England, including Norfolk County Council, to transform accessible communication.

Additionally, Nathaniel was part of the pioneering team who developed the Oversight Group model of co-production for adult ASD and ADHD services within the NHS. Having proven the success of these methodologies regionally, he continues to use his unique blend of analytical rigor and creative vision to drive meaningful reform and unlock human potential.

The Reality of Lived Experience Leadership

Nathaniel’s journey into strategic consultancy was not a traditional path. Much of his foundational work was undertaken on a voluntary basis, driven by a systemic landscape where the benefits system often penalises individuals who receive income for contributing their lived experience.

Furthermore, navigating specific neurodivergent challenges; including Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD) and severe sensory overwhelm; meant that standard, demanding work structures were impossible to sustain without highly specialised support. Despite these substantial barriers, Nathaniel’s driving force remained an unwavering commitment to impactful change.

    The Power of Appropriate Support

Over the past 12 months, this dedication has translated into sustainable roles, most notably securing a pivotal contract with Curators of Change, working in partnership with Norfolk County Council.

This success is a testament to the unique model employed by Curators of Change. Their incredible ability to assist and support “complex individuals” has provided the necessary environment for Nathaniel to thrive, enabling him to lead high-level strategic conversations that would have been inaccessible without that specific type of involvement.

    Future Advocacy

Looking ahead, Nathaniel is committed to addressing the ethics of co-production. Drawing on his own past experiences of having knowledge utilised by those in power without appropriate credit, he intends to publish thought leadership on “professional exploitation,” advocating for fair recognition across the sector.
